Headstone lists of Cemeteries I Have Completed as of 2013 Helen L Nilles Owens

With a few exceptions the cemeteries all have a connection to the South Side of Pittsburgh.

All cemeteries were developed after 1865 with exception of St. Michael which according to oral information began in 1848.

One Cemetery called by various names was begun in 1838. It no longer exists. It was called the Center St Episcopal Cemetery, the Carbon St. Episcopal at different times. In South Side the headstone calls it the Bingham St Episcopal Methodist Cemetery. No bodies appear to have been buried after 1900 in the old cemetery. All bodies were moved from it to other cemeteries. The last 100 plus buried were lifted and reburied in a mass grave in South Side Cemetery on April 27, 1927. South Side does have a list of these people in its books. I have inquired of the Bingham St. Methodist Church and the Methodist Episcopal Archives, but no one has found anything about the people buried in the old cemetery.
